THE BAND
They're sexy. They're smart. They're slightly
unbalanced. Hailed by The Aquarian Weekly as a band that always
delivers "standout sets," Stone Soup is a solid rock
and roll band infused with blues and soul.
Born in the hallowed
halls of the Broadway Central Café in South Amboy,
New Jersey, the band features John Gray on lead guitar,
Noel Gendrano on bass and rhythm guitar, Ken Herskovitz
on drums and Rebecca Stark on lead vocals. The band has
graced the stages of many of New Jersey's best venues,
including the Broadway, the Stone Pony, the Saint, Bar
Anticipation, Hooligans, Zabba Zu, and the Lemon Lounge.
Individual members of Stone Soup have appeared at Carnegie
Hall, Lincoln Center and the PNC Bank Arts Center. But
don't be fooled by that little stuffiness - they'd much
rather be getting down and dirty in the bars and clubs
where the occasional guitar to the head makes life that
much more exciting.

"Stone
Soup is a pretty happening band, especially guitarist/singer
Noel, who always tunes his guitar before he gets
on stage. That's quite a concept for the
average dumb ass musician to understand."
-The
Red Glare Record
"I
especially enjoyed the band
Stone Soup. Lead
vocalist Rebecca Stark's personality was reminiscent
of Janis Joplin and her voice was raw and charged
with emotion. She seemed to literally pour
her soul into every song she sang."

With a fat rhythm and guitar solos that take
you places you never thought you'd go, the music of Stone
Soup is matched only by the power and subtlety of its lyrics.
Taking inspiration from relationships, the workplace, and
everyday life, their songs are always rockin' and always
thoughtful.
Funkier than Chrissie Hynde
and wittier than Alanis, Stone Soup is more fun than a
mouthful of Diet Coke and Pop Rocks. This band has a kick
ass sensibility backed up by serious talent and musicianship. |
